A thoughtful skin plan connects what happens in the clinic with what you do at home. The starting point is understanding the role of each, then keeping the plan practical.
Two parts of the same conversation
Your daily routine and a clinic procedure have different purposes. Skincare is part of everyday care. A treatment is a separate clinical decision that should follow an assessment of your concerns, history and suitability.
At London Finsbury Clinic, we encourage patients to bring their current products or photographs of the labels to a consultation. Knowing what you already use helps make the conversation more useful.
Start with one clear priority
It is easy to arrive with a list of products and treatments seen online. Try beginning with the change you would most like to discuss instead: for example, how your skin feels or which aspect of its appearance concerns you.
That gives us a clearer starting point for comparing options, including whether a treatment is appropriate at all. A plan can develop over time rather than adding several new steps at once.
Your current skincare, previous procedures, relevant medical history and the time you can allow for recovery. Tell us about irritation or products you have found difficult to tolerate.
Aftercare should be specific to your treatment
Follow the instructions provided for your own procedure. Advice about cleansing, makeup, active ingredients or when to restart products may differ between treatments and patients.
A product labelled gentle, natural or Korean is not automatically suitable immediately after a procedure. If you are unsure, ask the clinic before using it. Keeping your routine clear and manageable makes it easier to follow the agreed plan.
Review before adding more
Allow the recommended time for review and discuss how your skin has responded. Your experience should guide the next conversation, including whether anything needs to change.
