How much does treatment cost, and is there a fixed unit allowance?
Treatment costs £399 per treatment, rather than per unit, and includes a free consultation. There is no fixed unit allowance: your doctor selects the clinically appropriate dose for your muscle size, facial anatomy, symptoms and goals. This does not mean unlimited injections or an automatic maximum dose. Clinically indicated temporalis treatment at the same appointment and your scheduled 14-day review are included.
What is V-line slimming treatment?
V-line slimming aims to soften a wider lower face when enlarged masseter muscles contribute to its shape. Your doctor assesses whether muscle, bone structure, fat distribution or skin laxity is the main factor. Muscle treatment cannot change the jawbone or remove facial fat, and a particular face shape cannot be guaranteed.
Is temporalis treatment included?
Temporalis treatment is included at the same appointment at no extra charge when your doctor finds it clinically indicated. These muscles at the temples also contribute to chewing. Their treatment is based on assessment, not added automatically to every masseter appointment.
Does masseter slimming help with teeth grinding and bruxism?
Treatment may reduce the force of overactive jaw muscles in selected people who grind or clench their teeth. It does not address every cause of bruxism or guarantee that grinding will stop. Dental assessment, tooth protection and management of contributing factors remain important.
How long does V-line slimming treatment last?
The effects are temporary and commonly last several months, with considerable individual variation. Muscle strength, symptoms, the treatment plan and previous response all matter. Are both sides of the jaw treated?
Your doctor assesses both sides, including muscle size, strength and any existing asymmetry. If treatment is appropriate, the plan is tailored to each side; equal doses are not automatically required. The £399 fee is for the agreed masseter treatment, not a price charged for each unit.
Can treatment help jaw pain or headaches?
It may help selected muscular symptoms associated with clenching, but jaw pain and headaches have many causes. It is not a guaranteed treatment for all temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Painful clicking, locking, limited opening or persistent pain needs dental or medical assessment before a treatment plan is chosen.
Do I still need a dentist or mouthguard?
Yes, when advised. Reducing jaw muscle activity does not repair worn or damaged teeth, treat gum recession or replace dental care. A dentist can assess sensitive teeth, tooth wear and ongoing pain and may recommend a fitted mouthguard to protect your teeth. Discuss any existing splint with your dentist.
When can I repeat masseter treatment?
Your doctor reviews your muscle response, previous results and current goals before recommending an appropriate interval. Repeat treatment is tailored to how the effect has worn off and your individual needs.
Can treatment address slimming and teeth grinding together?
Yes. Facial slimming and teeth grinding (bruxism) can be addressed through the same masseter treatment approach. There is one £399 treatment price, whether your plan focuses on facial contour, clenching-related symptoms or both.
How is jawline support considered?
Your doctor assesses muscle size, skin firmness and lower-face tissue together when planning facial slimming. A conservative dose or staged plan may be considered to balance contour change with jawline support. Where appropriate, jawline lifting or a treatment for skin quality may complement the plan.
