Natural-Looking Dermal Fillers: Cheeks, Temples and Nasolabial Folds

Natural-Looking Dermal Fillers: Cheeks, Temples and Nasolabial Folds — warm editorial portrait

Restoring support without losing what makes you, you

Perhaps your cheeks look less full than they once did, your temples seem more hollow, or a fold beside your nose has become more noticeable. You may also have always had less volume in an area and simply want to understand whether a subtle adjustment could suit you.

At London Finsbury Clinic in King’s Cross, our aim is to understand your face and your wishes before discussing dermal filler. The starting point is balance and proportion, with respect for your existing features.

Your consultation starts with you

You are welcome to arrive with questions, a clear goal or simply a feeling that you would like to refresh your appearance. At London Finsbury Clinic in King’s Cross, we begin by listening. What would you like to improve? What do you already love about your face? What would feel like too much? Your opinion helps shape the conversation from the start.

If you would like to share where you come from, your ethnicity, cultural background or previous experiences of aesthetic care, we welcome that conversation. These details can help us understand your preferences, but we never assume what you want because of your background. We look at your individual skin and facial features and ask what natural-looking means to you.

Our doctor also reviews your medical history, skincare, previous treatments and any products previously injected. We assess the area that concerns you in the context of your whole face, then explain suitable options in clear language. You have time to ask questions and decide at your own pace.

Volume, skin quality and firmness are different goals

A volume deficiency is not the same as a concern about skin texture or firmness. We assess these separately so that the proposed treatment has a clear purpose. When the goal is skin quality or gradual collagen support, we often explore devices or collagen stimulators before traditional hyaluronic acid filler.

Collagen stimulators are injectable treatments, and some are also classified as fillers. They are not interchangeable with every hyaluronic acid product. We explain the differences in purpose and timing so you can understand why a particular approach may be recommended.

Cheek filler: considering the whole face

For the cheeks, we look at your natural contours and how their support relates to the surrounding face. A considered approach may address volume lost over time or an area that has always had less fullness, while avoiding unnecessary exaggeration.

We use Juvéderm Voluma frequently in our clinic, as part of individually assessed treatment plans. Product choice follows the area, your existing tissue and the intended result; the brand name alone does not determine what is right for you.

Temples and nasolabial folds: choosing the right starting point

Temple assessment considers the transition between the forehead, outer eye area and cheek. We look at the degree of hollowing and the overall proportions before discussing whether additional support would help.

Nasolabial folds are the lines running from the sides of the nose towards the corners of the mouth. Their appearance can relate to more than the fold itself, so we assess the cheeks and surrounding structure as well. Sometimes a different starting point is more appropriate than adding filler directly along a line.

Knowing when less is enough

A caring consultation includes an honest recommendation about when to pause. If we feel an additional treatment would be too much, or would move you away from the balanced result you want, we will recommend leaving it alone. You do not have to add treatment simply because an area can be treated.

We also see people who would like a more subtle starting point after previous filler. Where appropriate, we discuss dissolving existing hyaluronic acid filler before considering a new plan. This is a separate treatment following assessment, and not every injectable product can be dissolved. Sometimes the most thoughtful next step is a review, a different approach or time to decide.

A gradual plan you can understand

You can tell us that you want to look refreshed but do not want noticeably larger cheeks or a change in your identity. We welcome that level of detail. We explain the proposed area, the reason for treating it and how it fits with the rest of your face.

If several areas concern you, we can discuss priorities and a staged approach. Reviewing an initial change before considering another area helps keep the plan thoughtful. Bring details of previous filler, if available, and ask us why we recommend one option over another.
