A first visit that helps you feel at home
You do not need to know the names of treatments before visiting us. You might want skin that looks fresher, a softer-looking expression or better facial balance, while still looking like yourself. We help turn those thoughts into a clear conversation, without expecting you to choose a procedure in advance.
Your first aesthetic treatment in King’s Cross should begin with feeling understood. Bring your questions, tell us what matters to you and let us know whether you prefer a very gradual approach. We explain each step before asking you to make a decision.
Your consultation starts with you
You are welcome to arrive with questions, a clear goal or simply a feeling that you would like to refresh your appearance. At London Finsbury Clinic in King’s Cross, we begin by listening. What would you like to improve? What do you already love about your face? What would feel like too much? Your opinion helps shape the conversation from the start.
If you would like to share where you come from, your ethnicity, cultural background or previous experiences of aesthetic care, we welcome that conversation. These details can help us understand your preferences, but we never assume what you want because of your background. We look at your individual skin and facial features and ask what natural-looking means to you.
Our doctor also reviews your medical history, skincare, previous treatments and any products previously injected. We assess the area that concerns you in the context of your whole face, then explain suitable options in clear language. You have time to ask questions and decide at your own pace.
Why we often explore options beyond traditional filler
Our usual starting point is to consider how we can support your skin and natural features without automatically adding volume. Depending on the assessment, that may mean skincare, a suitable device treatment or an injectable collagen stimulator. A preference for a natural result does not mean the same treatment for everyone.
Device treatments such as Ultraformer MPT use ultrasound energy; laser treatments use light energy. These are different from dermal filler and are selected for different concerns. We explain what the particular treatment is intended to address, how appointments are planned and what to expect afterwards.
Collagen stimulators are injectable treatments designed to support your own collagen response over time. Some are also classified as fillers, but their role and timing differ from a traditional hyaluronic acid gel. Skin boosters are another injectable category, usually discussed when hydration and skin quality are priorities.
When filler can have a thoughtful role
If your main concern is a localised volume deficiency or the projection of a feature, hyaluronic acid filler may be worth discussing. It can be considered for volume that has changed with age or for proportions that have always been part of your facial structure. We explain why it may fit your goal rather than treating it as the default choice.
A measured plan respects the features you already have. We may suggest focusing on one area first and reviewing before deciding whether anything further would help.
Knowing when less is enough
A caring consultation includes an honest recommendation about when to pause. If we feel an additional treatment would be too much, or would move you away from the balanced result you want, we will recommend leaving it alone. You do not have to add treatment simply because an area can be treated.
We also see people who would like a more subtle starting point after previous filler. Where appropriate, we discuss dissolving existing hyaluronic acid filler before considering a new plan. This is a separate treatment following assessment, and not every injectable product can be dissolved. Sometimes the most thoughtful next step is a review, a different approach or time to decide.
Questions you can bring to your first appointment
Ask us: What is the main reason for the change I notice? Could a device or skin-focused option suit me? What would you recommend doing first, and why? How will we review the result? What should I plan around the appointment? We welcome practical questions about timing, aftercare and cost as well as the appearance you hope to achieve.
Before your visit, it helps to make a short list of previous aesthetic treatments, your skincare and any medicines you use. If you have details of previous injectable products, bring those too. We will guide you through the conversation.
