Skin quality or facial volume?

Hyaluronic acid products differ in their formulation and intended use. A hydration treatment is not interchangeable with a filler used for structural support. Your doctor will name the proposed product, explain the amount and discuss alternatives during your consultation.

Skinvive by Juvéderm

For selected patients seeking hydration and smoother-looking skin. This is a skin-quality discussion rather than a promise of facial lifting or replacement of lost structural volume.

Cheeks, chin and jawline

Structural filler planning considers facial proportions, existing injections and how much support is needed. More volume is not automatically a better result.

Lips and under eyes

Lip shape and under-eye hollowness need different assessments and products. The under-eye area is delicate; puffiness, pigmentation and protruding fat pads may not be suitable for filler.

Juvéderm, Juvelook and Lenisna: different choices

Despite similar names, Juvelook is not a Juvéderm product. Juvelook and Lenisna (Juvelook Volume) involve PDLLA collagen stimulation with hyaluronic acid. Juvéderm facial fillers use hyaluronic acid for a different approach to tissue support. Radiesse is another distinct injectable, based on calcium hydroxylapatite. Choosing between them requires an assessment, not a universal ranking.

What happens at your appointment?

  1. Discuss your goals, medical history, allergies, previous products and any earlier reactions.
  2. Your doctor assesses anatomy, suitability and whether skincare or another treatment would be more appropriate.
  3. Agree the named product, treatment area, amount, total price, recovery and consent before proceeding.
  4. Receive personalised aftercare and instructions for contacting the clinic.

Risks and suitability

Injectables can cause swelling, bruising, tenderness, lumps, infection and delayed reactions. Filler can rarely obstruct a blood vessel and cause serious tissue injury or visual complications. Persistent severe pain, skin colour changes or visual symptoms need urgent medical attention. Discuss pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, medication and allergies with your doctor; treatment may be deferred.

Hyaluronic acid filler may be dissolved when clinically appropriate, but this is a separate medical procedure with its own risks. Collagen stimulators are not dissolved in the same way. Read about filler dissolving assessment and aftercare.

Before-and-after photographs and realistic results

Review relevant images on our treatment pages and patient stories. A photograph is an individual result, influenced by anatomy, product, dose, timing and any combined treatments. Your doctor explains what is realistic for you; no photograph guarantees the same outcome.

For Chinese and East Asian clients in London

We discuss natural facial balance and your own preferences. Skin tone, sensitivity and previous pigmentation influence planning; ethnicity alone does not determine a product. Read our Chinese client guide. Contact us on WeChat Finsburyclinic or WhatsApp to discuss your appointment and language-support needs.

How much does treatment cost?

Prices vary by product, amount and area. View the current full price list and the linked treatment page. The proposed total is explained before consent; this guide does not create a separate booking fee.

Questions about Juvéderm

Is Skinvive the same as a cheek filler?

No. Skin hydration and structural cheek support are different goals, using different treatment planning.

Can every dark circle be treated with filler?

No. Pigmentation, visible vessels, hollowness, swelling and fat pads have different causes. Assessment may lead to another approach or advice alone.

How long will results last?

Duration varies with the exact product, treatment area, amount and individual response. Your doctor explains product-specific expectations.
