Lenisna vs Sculptra: why we favour a personalised Korean collagen approach
Restore softer facial contours, improve firmness and build support gradually with your own collagen. If you are comparing Lenisna and Sculptra, you are probably looking for rejuvenation that develops naturally rather than an immediately overfilled appearance. Both are collagen-stimulating injectables. At London Finsbury Clinic, Lenisna is a preferred option within our Korean aesthetic approach, with Sculptra also available when appropriate.
Lenisna is also called Juvelook Volume
Lenisna combines poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid. It is a Korean hybrid biostimulator: the components have different roles within a treatment designed for gradual support and skin-quality improvement. It is not the same formulation as standard Juvelook Skin Booster.
We discuss Lenisna for cheeks, temples, folds and lower-face concerns, and selected neck, hand and body skin-quality plans. Product choice and placement must suit the tissue. A treatment used for the cheeks should not automatically be used in delicate under-eye skin.
How is Sculptra different?
Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), with its own carrier ingredients and preparation requirements. It also encourages a gradual tissue response and has an established clinical history. PDLLA and PLLA belong to the polylactic-acid family, but the products are not identical. The presence of HA in Lenisna does not make it equivalent to a conventional cross-linked HA contouring filler.
Why is Lenisna our preference?
Our preference reflects our experience with Korean collagen stimulators, international training and the way we plan natural-looking facial support. We value Lenisna’s hybrid formulation and the ability to discuss skin quality alongside volume-related goals. The aim is to soften folds and restore balance while keeping your features recognisably yours.
Rather than chasing dramatic projection, we assess where support is missing and review gradual change. Cheek support, temple hollowing and a nasolabial fold can be connected, so treating the visible line alone may not be the best starting point. Your plan can also include devices or skin treatments where they address a different concern.
What helps collagen stimulation look natural?
A balanced result starts with careful assessment, the right amount, precise preparation and thoughtful placement. Our Lenisna approach builds support gradually, with review appointments to assess how your own collagen response develops. We explain swelling, bruising, inflammatory lumps or nodules and other injection risks with either product, so you can choose your plan with a clear understanding of the care involved.
How soon can you see a difference?
Collagen stimulation develops over weeks and months. Early fullness after injection includes the treatment fluid and swelling; it should not be mistaken for the final collagen result. We agree a review schedule and decide whether further treatment is justified by your response. More product or more frequent treatment is not automatically better.
Can collagen stimulators be dissolved?
They should not be approached as fully reversible treatments. Hyaluronidase can act on HA, but it does not dissolve PDLLA or PLLA particles or the collagen response. That is why careful selection and a measured plan matter. We discuss temporary redness, swelling and bruising as well as less common complications before you decide.
Choose your plan, not just a product name
Our doctor listens to the result you want, examines your face or body area and explains why Lenisna, Sculptra or another option fits. Suitable numbing, comfort checks, clear pricing, aftercare and complimentary skincare advice are part of our care. A consultation lets you compare the options with the international trainer who will help plan your treatment.
