What is hyaluronidase?
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. In aesthetic medicine it is commonly used to manage unwanted results and certain complications associated with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. It does not dissolve every type of injectable product, so identifying what was used—and where—is an important part of your consultation.

What happens during the appointment?

Swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur temporarily. The final appearance should be assessed after the immediate swelling has settled. More than one appointment may sometimes be needed.
Can filler be replaced afterwards?
Sometimes the best result is achieved by allowing the tissues to settle before deciding whether any further treatment is needed. Rather than automatically replacing the same amount, our doctor reassesses facial balance, skin quality and the original reason for treatment. The aim is a refreshed, proportionate result—not simply more product.
Safety matters
Hyaluronidase can cause side effects, including allergic reactions, and urgent filler complications require immediate medical assessment. If you experience severe pain, skin colour change or visual symptoms following filler treatment, seek urgent medical help rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
